It’s a confusing, muddled message to me. Sitting in the sun in your local park isn’t exercise.
It will be great to get the car out and go for a spin without having to justify it but some places like seaside and national parks are going to be so busy, it can’t be safe.
I’m English but prefer the Nicola Sturgeon message ‘Continue to stay safe at home’

I won’t be changing what I’m currently doing; trip to the supermarket by car every 7-14 days, and my one daily walk for exercise around the country lanes near where i live where I meet virtually no one else. Apart from that, I’ll be staying at home to (hopefully) stay safe.

I interpreted that driving to other destinations was in relation to exercising. IMO it wasn’t entirely clear, so the PM might have meant it’s Ok just to go for a drive. I’ll still only be using my car to go to the supermarket every 7-14 days; seems that’s sufficient use to keep it ticking over at the moment.

I interpreted that as rich MPs are now permitted to drive to their second homes for a bit of a break in the sun without being shamed into resigning.

There definitely needs more structure and detail to the response.

They need to establish the benefit of PPE to determine if people who can't do their job without being 2m apart can be safe wearing PPE while working.

They need find a way to get people back to work safely and get their kids back to school safely when they do. We've had some key worker school provision, but it has gone from 5 days a week to 2 days a week.

Pubs and restaurants realistically need to be the last back to normal working (as we should continue to restrict mass socialising), yet they're among the worst hit financially - I doubt furloughed restaurant staff have had their usual tips taken into account.

People will also be allowed to take unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise, sit or sunbathe in parks, drive to other destinations to exercise and play sports with household members from Wednesday.

Well, unless I misunderstood Boris just now - we’re able to go driving for any reason from Wednesday 👍

So assuming the BBC news item is accurate (they have been known to be incorrect before), then driving for any reason isn’t permitted. Link to BBC news item below;

You can get cheaper but I got them next day with Amazon prime. I’ve got one in the boot with disposable gloves and bags for life in it and the second is over the top of the transmission tunnel to protect it from my daughters feet and for odds and sods that she keeps in the back.

I also got the Skoda washer bottle cap after earlier recommendation and it’s a really good design, impressed with it.

If you get pulled driving your car, are you going to say you were just going for a drive or are you going to say you're going to the beach? if you get caught driving the opposite way to your local beach e.g. Tynemouth, you're obviously going to Bkackpool.beach to exercise!

I didn't like Whitby on a couple of day visits but we stayed for a few days a couple or so years ago and loved it. Once the crowds are gone it has a real charm. We've also stayed in Staithes up the coast and really liked it there too but it's really, really quiet! Too quiet although the Cod and Lobster is great
