They are actually narrower than the standard black plastic DSG one as meant for manual cars. So, no they aren't technically the same.

I do this too! Just vacuum the mat in opposite directions using an appropriate attachment.

Yes, you can use a vacuum. The 'detailing' method is to brush the whole mat with a stiff brush top to bottom then do upward spaced stripes back up the mat.  If it's quite dirty, best to hold it again a nice flat wall so that all the dust and dirt goes down.

No special attachment needed, it's just called OCD

Yes, provided I get it as its currently stuck in storage so will keep you posted. The clamp needs to be used though to put the original resonator back in but I could ask Progressive Parts to see if they can supply another one.
