MY20 Order - Latest Updates

So, VW have just confirmed that even though my car left the factory on 14th May it still hasn't been allocated a transport slot. It's taken a fortnight to get to Emden and then it's sat another 10 days and still hasn't been allocated a slot. They can't have that much of a back log seeing as though the factory shut on the exact week my car was supposed to be built. I'm off to look at alternatives, sick of waiting and sick fed up of VW incompetence once again!

As the car won’t have been registered yet a transporter would be your only alternative

As the car won’t have been registered yet a transporter would be your only alternative 

it's still in Germany so you couldn't even do that.

No, you haven't been able to do that for years. It's not even at Wolfsburg though it's sitting dockside at Emden.

that's the problem though, they haven't got a clue when it'll be on a ship and as far as I can see no more vehicle carriers are due into Tyne this month. Absolutely piss poor once again from them. Surely they must have some idea of what's going on and ship allocations.

VW UK customer service and communication has always been piss poor Chris, you know this! Luckily for VW the cars are fantastic or we'd al be giving them the middle finger and driving BMWs.

When it finally gets here, you won't give the wait another thought.

To be fair, even without a global pandemic that has shut everything down for 3 months, both of my Mk7's took neigh on 6 months to come.

If anything I'd actually go as far as to say its possibly enough to make me think about anything other than VAG next time.

I don't understand how no other OEM works like that, including ones which build cars in Japan and ship them to the UK.
