Tyre Pressures - 19" Brescia's
« on: 16 March 2020, 10:00 »
Can someone post a pic or the info for tyre pressures to run 19" Brescia's with Michelin Pilot Sport S's, I'm adding these to the stock vehicle and I'm guessing my pressures will be for the 18" wheels it comes with and may vary to the 19".

It'll be on your door-sticker. 41psi all round (for normal load) is the factory advisory.

Some find that a bit harsh and run 39-40psi which takes the edge off the ride somewhat.

I'd have thought my door stickers would have pressures for the 18" wheels the vehicle comes with, are you saying it'd be the same for 19's?

Your door sticker will show both 18" and 19" pressures. It's a standard sticker used for the variant (GTI), not wheel size specific.

Ah fair enough, thought it might be more build appropriate and not generic, cheers :-)

I run mine even lower at 35psi all round. Hasn’t resulted in any adverse tyre wear over 7K miles and gives a much nicer ride. Recommended pressures shot up on recent model changes - probably in the interest of better fuel consumption.

That's not strictly true. It was believed to be the case, then somebody posted a picture of their sticker on their 2015/16 car and it showed 19's on 41psi all round.

Ahh, it was the initial opinion on here I was going on. My previous Mk7s were on 18, which were on less than 41. I find that you can, generally, run lower pressures without problems.
