Sat nav on virtual cockpit issue
« on: 21 February 2020, 21:53 »
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.
I’ve recently just picked up a mk7 18 plate golf gti, spec sheet says it has ‘discover nav’. I’m unsure if this allows you to have the sat nav in the virtual cockpit or if this is a ‘discover pro’ feature only.

After going through every setting possible I still can’t get the maps to go over. Main issue is it won’t even give me the option to send the maps over due to the maps box on the nav being grey and can’t be selected!

Is this because I don’t have have pro or maybe a later software?

Any help is much appreciated!

You should be able to have maps in the Active Info Display no problem, regardless of which nav unit you have. There is a 'button' (it's actually a touch sensitive button that pops up on the bottom of the touchscreen when you move your hand near its proximity sensor) that allows you to switch between maps on the touchscreen and maps on the Active Info Display.

What you can't do with the standard Discover Nav, is have route guidance running in both the Active Info Display and the touchscreen at the same time. That feature is a Nav Pro feature only.

Thanks for replying!

So the issue is that the menu you’re describing does pop up but the map button you’re describing is greyed out and does not allow me to select it for some reason.

Here is a link to what’s displayed on the nav and what software I have.

Oh, that is a bit odd.

I've no idea which software version i have, but mine is a Dec 2017 GTD and I can switch 'maps' view no problem.

Do you have the navigation view active on the Active Info Display? Scroll left and right using the silver toggle on the right hand side of the steering wheel?

Yes gives me the option to select nav etc but can’t go up or down once selected on AID.
It’s baffling me haha
