Ok so as others have stated you should be questioning it after the first set of discs.

But anyway, so either the discs the garages have ben supplying are seriously cheap nasty items or there could well be another issue that makes you think the discs are warped.
It has been mentioned, and I can speak from first hand experience on the E53 X5 that the lower bush in the control arm can cause judder under braking (it's a common issue on them), which can be mistaken for warping (so I wouldn't discount it).

But also have you had the hub checked for runout, because if the disc isn't spinning straight within the caliper again this can cause the same issue. If after fitting decent discs/pads you have the same issue then I'd get the bushes checked and maybe the discs skimmed on the hub to remove any potential run out.

hi there I'm on to my 5th set of discs and pads in a year there still keep warping I've tried brembo duratec and other just wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem .... wondering if it could be the abs pump I'm baffled
any ideas driving me crackers this man
car drives fine ie wheel balancing etc.    help me lol
Not sure if this will help you but I had a very similar experience with a Mk5 Golf GT TDI 170? It started off at 65k miles with the disc warp occurring over a 5K mile period then 4K miles and so on until it started at 1500 mile intervals. It turned out the issue was caused by slightly worn Lower Control Arm (wish bone) bushes. The wear on the bushes was not enough to flag up an Advisory at MOT time so it was not obvious that this was the cause initially. An utterly frustrating experience until the source of the problem was discovered.

The bush would have still been worn regardless of changing the discs at those intervals so I think some garage has been pulling your pisser  :grin:

 The issue that was causing the discs to warp was the worn wishbone bushes. There were no warning signs to flag up the fact that the bushes were on their way out. No banging or clunking coming from the suspension or subframe and no vagueness or looseness in the steering of the car. That is what made it so hard to figure out that it was the actual bushes that was the root cause. I'd even had the wheel bearing/hub assemblies renewed after the second set of discs warped just in case. Run-out was tested/measured and all was good at each change of discs until the next round of warping. Only ever fitted Brembo or Pagid discs. Just hope the OP is able to find a cure.

A worn bush wouldn’t have caused the discs to warp  :grin: that’s the best one I’ve heard in nearly 30 year’s and any mechanic that cares to tell me different should give his tools to charity as he clearly shouldn’t be near anyone’s car

 barrym381 - Would you be so kind as to explain to me why the disc warping issue that I experienced stopped immediately after replacing the LCA bushes (and installing another fresh set of identical Brembo discs and pads)? At no stage in this debacle were there any issues with brake calipers, slide pins, ABS unit, pipe work and brake hoses as all were in good working order.  Like I said previously - the wheel bearing/hub assemblies were renewed. There was basically little else to investigate or try.

The idiots working on it had enough of your money would be my guess but there’s no way a rubber bush being worn will warp a brake disc regardless of how worn the bush is


The bush is rubber the disc is solid

both wheels rotate freely . once new discs are fitted there fine its only after about 1500 miles or so they end up with run out on them ie warping my local garage is stumped . surely  this has to be patent discs as there fine once new

If the garage is replacing with cheap knock off stuff then maybe but they'd have to be really cheap and nasty. What brand of discs have they been using?
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.
