Thanks for the feedback all. Some interesting points especially the reset option, surely that is logged somewhere.

If up to 100 can be reset why isn't it? Anyone collected a car with 0 miles?

haven't a clue 🤷‍♂️. Maybe they'll reset before pdi to keep the miles down. I was told this years ago by an ex VW technician so it could have changed.

Yes - Audi A3 had 0 miles on collection which was a blatant reset because it was a June order, delivered to dealer in late July and stored in their compound on the other side of the city until it’s PDI & handover in September.

My GTI had 15 on the clock which I felt was a little high.

I’ve had four new VW’s. Each had between 7 and 8 miles on the clock when I picked them up.

These are very nice looking dials. I thought about deleting digital dash when I ordered. The salesman clearly thought I was mad for considering it.
Mine had 8 miles on pickup, btw.

I’d say it’s all in the dealer guide to delivering a new car. Zero miles isn’t believable, is it? The car has to be moved around for logistics and PDI etc. Anything over 20 starts to take the shine off. Someone will have studied the psychology.

Mine had 13 miles on the clock when I picked it up... Seemed OK to me at the time.
