Does everyone find keyless a bit flaky?

I have it on my Polo GTI+ (and the wifes).

For both cars it'll only work as intended 2/3 if the time to open the car up. Sometimes it won't respond, sometimes you'll hear the click of the central locking system locking, even though it is already locked. It's not on any particular door either, it doesn't seem to matter whether it is drivers doir or front passengers door.

It's usually the first use after overnight parking, but not always.

Yeah I find the first try after leaving the car a while it’s easier to use the remote, I put it down to the car going into some kinda battery saver

It is less of a bother for me, seeing as I have my key in a trouser pocket and the missus has hers in a handbag that would rival Mary Poppins' for the amount of sh!te in it.

Neither car has failed to allow you to open the boot with the key on your person.

I'd assume the system is exactly the same but the keys themselves are slightly different in that The Polo GTI key comes with a plain chrome loop. That loop has a slightly different slot and lock configuration on top of the loop. If you want the Golf loops to fit, you have to trim the back peg with a dremel.

It seems then that the Polo has a newer key variant - might have something to do with it or maybe the controllers are confused (when it locks even though already locked) and need a reset?
