Jumping straight out of a Mk7 GTD manual into a Mk7.5 GTD manual... can't say I noticed any difference in throttle pedal response.

In fact, the whole car felt pretty much the same other than the AID, the new NavPro staring me in the face and the new LED headlights being an improvement over the already very good Xenons.

I still say the "problem" people talk about is DSG related, because its doing loads of things which are invisible to the operator and has all sorts of automated behaviours you initially don't understand.

I too get that impression. in my (on this issue) humble opinion, the manual gives you more flexibility to have the pedal and engine speed exactly where you want for any situation.
I've seen revo promote a linear throttle map for " track or spirited driving" because standard throttle mapping can be oversensitive and gives less control. I just wonder whether adding a pedal box may cause that problem.

I had 1 fitted to my mk7 manual GTI and I felt it really needed it but I got a new 7.5 PP DSG in September and I have not even tried it on it yet. It feels so much more responsive.

That's interesting. Were there changes made to the throttle mapping from 7 to 7.5? Is it the extra power or the DSG box that you feel made it unnecessary on the 7.5?

I don’t know about any changes to the throttle mapping but that may be the reason but i am sure that having the extra power and the DSG box will of contributed to it as well but there is definitely a lot less lag when i press the throttle now.
It’s not just me who noticed it, the Mrs & brother in law both agreed that it wasn’t needed in my new 1.
