GPF Removal
« on: 20 January 2020, 20:46 »
Hi guys, New member. Have just purchased a 2019 PP GTi in Indium Grey. The dealer just happens to be 15 mins away from AMD

My plan is to take this car to Stage 3, hence my question.

Does anyone have any infomation on how this car reacts without a GPF?
I am trying to decide on what to do, I want to pretty quickly end up at stage 2.

If I was to fit the GPF delete downpipe would the car go in to limp mode, or just throw a EML similar yo a decat? or could I have it disabled in the map before I Take it out.

Im looking to get the map done after collecting it, but want to be able to fit a downpipe at home I a couple of weeks.

any feedback would be great

Engine light, look at clp automotive they do a miltek module that bypasses the light one u fit the downpipe sports car to replace the gpf, looking at it myself but all added up is an expensive option

At the risk of being a bore, surely if you Decat/DGPF then the car is technically not road legal, it would not pass an MOT in future, and therefore un-insureable and any insurance you do purchase is invalid in the event of an accident.

correct

The same happened when firms offered to delete the Dpf's, few years later it became part of the MOT.
Friend who is an mot tester said lots of folks had to then pay to get them refitted , on cars that had a significant financial value, those that didn't got traded in and then presumably taken to a car dismantler to sell the working parts.

Much as we all moan about these additions to comply with modern laws they are there for one reason TO IMPROVE THE AIR WE BREATH.
