If you've been given finance figures and you've ordered on the basis of those then that's what you should get. I ordered mine on Sunday but was given the finance figures printed out along with an order number(suspect they've hijacked another order for mine).

Thanks - I actually ordered in November when only 4.9% was on offer so initially received that finance quote, the 0% was recently introduced so I asked my dealer to provide a 0% quote (which they did) and confirmed I wished to transfer to that scheme and as far as I know I am on that scheme. But going back to my original question, can a dealer withdraw the finance (across the board) after customers have placed an order and accepted/been given a finance quote? In the small print I expect they can but I wondered if this was common place? I am just concerned that many may have purchased based on 0% so I would not expect it to be withdrawn between the order point and collection point.

Does the 0% offer not take out the £1,500 VW contribution that was given eg on my 3.6% finance deal (March 19) thus almost nullifying the present free finance offer?
That’s what I understood from a quick check of the VW offers website yesterday.

0% deal meant you lost the £2000 deposit contribution but it still works out cheaper over a PCP.

Yep, but 0% offer is largely smoke and mirrors (as ever).

How? 0% with no deposit. How is it smoke and mirrors?

Because the VW cash contribution is taken out of the calculation.
Or have I got this wrong?
My PCP calculation was based on the starting price bring £1500 lower than list price.

How much you're borrowing and how long for will dictate which finance offer is best.

Not everyone has the means to take out finance and pay off straight away to get the deposit contribution. 4.9% interest on a £30k+ car mounts up after a while.

correct about losing the deposit contribution but the 0% is better than 4.9% on a PCP.

If you're buying a TCR for maybe £32k discounted, with 4.9% finance, you'll pay a smidge over £4k in interest.

Or buy same car for £34k discounted and pay no interest- you're swapping a £2k discount for a £4k interest saving - and you're £2k better off taking the 0% finance.

If you've had a credit check with VW finance and been properly quoted by VWFS, you'll get the 0% deal, they won't withdraw it - they've made that offer to you.

However, if the dealership has just punched some numbers into their computer as an illustration, VWFS have not offered you finance on those terms and so if it is pulled before you do the proper credit check, you won't get it.

Something similar happened to me when I ordered my R in Sept 2014. Finance wasn't finalised by dealership when GFV was £18.5k, it later dropped to £15.5k and it meant PCP terms were £80pm more with no access to the earlier deal.
