Best place for a rolling road run in Midlands
« on: 03 January 2020, 21:49 »
Hi all

I’m interested in getting my mk7.5 gti performance rolling roaded to see its true figures standard.

Its a performance pack car which is supposed to have around 245 bhp I believe however it feels more than this, it feels as quick if not a little quicker than my old version 1 Subaru Stu wagon prior to it being mapped, that was nearer 260 bhp.

Any recommendations appreciated

Thanks

Steve

Depends on where you are in the midlands but I'd recommend https://www.stealthracing.co.uk/ in Southam. It's run by proper VW enthusiasts.  Web site isn't up to much but have a look on FB for more info.

The power in the golf is known for being under guestimated and on other forums they have had theirs on a rolling road and had higher power figures than quoted as stock.

I’m based in Staffordshire but work in Wolverhampton so anywhere local to either would be useful, must be a decent company no fly by night shyster

Try P-Torque in Wolverhampton. Will is a well respected turner on the BMW forums and has been around for years

The whole concept is not accurate enough - on the day comparison, yes. But you aren't going to prove VW 'wrong'.
