Pikey 600 mod
« on: 01 January 2020, 18:30 »
Happy new year all.

So the start of the new year means stage 1 for the GTI along with some cosmetic tweaks. I've bought a couple of recommended supporting mods to go with the remap: TT TIP and drop-in filter - but one thing I'm considering doing is the 'Pikey 600' mod.

Has anyone on here done it? The benefits of doing the mod are proven to increase airflow but is there any downside to it or is it a no brainer when going stage 1 and above?

Did you remove the plastic guard inside the airbox too?

I think I'd leave out the blanking plate, surely it's left open for a good reason?

Is there much increase in noise if any at all?

I agree, i'd prob leave it open as well. Surely air into the engine bay area is not a bad thing.

Hi Ryan nice bits!

Quick question if that's ok, what discs are they and where did you order from?

Cheers!

Very nice although I did hope you had a non pp like me and I would now have a handle on them.

Just going to go tarox all around probably, a lot easier to get discs that fit non-pp size.

Unless you have any better suggestions? Could just stay stock discs. I don't track currently and commute 30 miles a day so...  Just nice to have nice things!

Could always upgrade to PP brakes? Don't think they're that much when they come up for sale on eBay
