No point going mental, not going to change where I am with car at this point, it was VW who said it was a gearbox issue initially so it has to be something wrong in that area. I will speak to the guy tomorrow and make sure I wont be charged for anything further.
Worst comes to the worse I will just have to trade it in (no one has ever test drove my previous 4 cars I have sold previous when using dealerships most recently a 15k Focus ST, just a quick look around and ignition start and that's that). Hopefully wont come to that point though
I'm not talking about going mental because I agree I don't think that gets you anywhere except getting peoples backs up that you are relying on helping you, but it would absolutely be testing my patience, nothing worse than car issues you can't get rid of!!

I had a 4 year old VW toe rag before my Golf R and I was already tempted with a golf when the Toe rag developed a wheel wobble at any speed above 32mph, I tried everything to cure it, wheel balancing, new tyres, swapped wheels over front to back, drive shafts checked you name it..... in the end took it to the main dealer she turned it around in the car park and offered me 2 grand more in part ex than I expected!!!

even if they did discover any issues afterwards it's no skin off their noses its just straight off to the block! (auction)
all the best whatever happens!
