issues with clubsport seats
« on: 22 August 2019, 08:00 »
recently bought a clubsport with the bucket seats, had to take it into vw for  issues with sides of seats coming apart from gloss black rear, sinclair vw say they have never seen the problem before, has any clubsport owners had any problems with theres? still waiting for dealership to get back to me on wether they can be repaired, or going to replace with new seats under warranty.

How many miles has the car covered?

Any pics, as it's hard to understand exactly where the problem is on the seat.

I can then compare to my buckets and report back.

its only just turned over 8000 miles, il get some photos done but the best way i can describe it is around the sides of the wings where the material meets the hard rear of the backrest.

Mine, while not coming  apart visibly will be reported to the dealer next time it goes in for service, it feels just like it has fell apart inside the seat in the same area as you describe, around the wings, ( very loose and wobbly)and mine is the passenger seat and I have only ever had one person sit in it in my ownership and my car only has 11k miles, drivers seat seems fine.

FYI And it squeaks like f**k when they were sat in it😡

Have a read through this - the solution I posted is still working for me - not a creak since:  http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=281175.0

If anyone is unhappy with their bucket seats you can always drop them off at my house for me to look after 😃

Thankfully mine seem creak free and together at the moment. I hope any issues show while the seats are still in warranty.

Some useful and interesting info on here in regard to solving creaks.

As we have quite a few CS owners on this thread, could I ask what tyre pressures everyone is using on 19" wheels?

Cheers, (apologies for the cheeky imposition).
