How about going oem and adding a CSS backbox? Seems popular and an econmical option.

Didn’t know about that option so have been looking. Does seem a positive option with stock exhaust. Just checking prices for it.

Thanks.

Yeah they are the ones I have come across from other forums while searching. Quite a price increase from what people were paying before lol

Remus may be slightly more dollar then the alternatives but big smiles quality is exerlent and the noise is 👍

I had Miltek Scorpion and Akrapovic on other brands of car.

2nd choice would be Akrapovic but these are serious £££

I've been pricing this up over the last few days. Unfortunately the price has gone up by quite a bit from when I last thought about upgrading. VW want £597 and everywhere else is ~£100 less when you include the hidden postage. Was quoted £115 for postage from one eBay seller.

I called into Tony Banks exhaust in Leeds to enquire about a full system which came in at ~£1000.

The other option was to just change the tips to the same size as the Clubsport as I'm happy with how the stock system sounds, however I'm unsure on the diameter of the tips. This option is very cost effective at £40-50 each side.

I'd absolutely love to go with an Akrapovic system but I'm not sure I can justify spending £3,500 (before fitting) on an exhaust.

Another vote for the Remus system.

Superb fit and finish, proven performance increase plus great sound.
MK7.5 Golf GTI Performance, 3 door, Issac Blue, DCC, Manual. Racingline Stage 1 OEM+, Remus Exhaust system, Sache Performance Clutch.

I've also run Milltek on previous MkIV's and have an Akra on my 335i. Akra for me but yeah brand new they are crazy money.

Agreed crazy money brand new so I did the next best thing and bought another GTI with it on already

Was the tip option from Tony Banks aswell?

I'm also looking into options and feel the same with regards to sound, and the tips are the only let down for me.

Personally I think 4" diameter would be ideal, I believe this is the size of the miltek tips too.

There is a new MAP catback coming out soon, that has a valved option, as well as resonated and non-resonated downpipe. No sound clips yet but I'll keep an eye out

Yes, the tip mod was from Tony Banks.

Does anyone know the size of the tips on the facelift/ Clubsport?

I'm leaning more towards the CSS muffler at the moment.
