Golf - currently 2nd best selling car in the UK

I was amazed recently to see the UK SMMT sales figures which sees the Golf in 2nd place.  I know it's always be a perennial top 10 seller but to now lie in 2nd place, especially as the Mk7.5 will be replaced next year is a remarkable achievement.  You can perhaps see why VW aren't too concerned about the Mk8 launch slipping.

Agree completely..... until we had a drive out yesterday and saw 3 GTI PP inside of 5 minutes, wouldn't mind but all in the same colour too! :laugh: (fyi - white silver) same old story, never any on the roads until you own one!

They’ll be out on the roads but I don’t think you notice them or specifically look for them until you own one :smiley:.

I don't think I've seen another white silver. And it is certainly a head turner! I get so many comments on it

Probably the same one circling!

I do see a few more now over the last few months, before that it was plenty of GTDs, a few Rs and a very rare GTI sighting.

I must admit round my way the the GTI is really exclusive. Think I've only seen one other in the last 2-3 weeks. R's are much more common but not nearly as much as GTD's. On the road leading up to our housing estate, there are no less than 6 GTD's on that one road !

Never seem to be that many until I sold mine for the GTI ?
