No volume on sound system
« on: 24 July 2019, 16:59 »
Hi all
I have just bought a 2014 golf gti. Loved it. However 1 week into ownership and im hit with a bill for 5.5k.

Basically the volume on the sound system would only go up halfway. Took to VW they updated the firmware, made it worse and now it has no sound at all.

Great. They have quoted 5.5k to fix

Surely there must be another way?!

Is this a common issue? If so is there a work a round??

Just sold my Renault Megane and that has had less electric electrical problems than this in my 4 years of ownership.
I was led to believe VW were better made.

Really dissapointed

Graeme

£5.5k to fix?

Really? Have they at least explained exactly what needs fixing? I don't think a brand new head unit costs anywhere near £5.5k so I think an explanation is needed.

If not, try an indy. You may get more sense from them. Or at least better customer service.

I managed to get the sound back on after watching a you
Tube clip but sound control still only works up to half way
At least it's got some sound. The engineer could not
Even don that
The service girl did not have a clue
Just kept repeating herself that it would be
5.5k to fix
