AFIK Limestone is the only grey option for a Mk7 R as Carbon was only for GTI/D.
The GTI was available in both Limestone and Carbon, R was Limestone only.

:)

Correct. As I said, Limestone was the only grey option for the R as Carbon is a GTI/GTD colour

Hmmmm, I'm not so sure about that colour. The other one is March 16 reg so any idea if it will have the correct Audio screen that I can add Apple play or the Kenwood Sat nav option? Also did all R's have the ACC cruise? they grey one says it has it not the red one!

So many questions. Thanks for the help.

As said, it’s definitely going to be Limestone Greige.
A more “mature” colour.
I’m no fan of red pre-FL R’s either.
An awful lot of the cheap leases were red so check the car thoroughly. Very thoroughly!

The MIB1 to MIB11 was around June 2015 (build date not delivery). The later units more adaptable but the Kenwood Nav add on can be retrofitted to the early cars. The good thing about the MIB11 is that you can upgrade to the bigger screens including the current MIB2.5/3 easily.

All R’s will have the ACC radar. It keeps insurance premiums reasonable.

On pre-facelift cars you can see the sensor for the ACC in the grille under the front number plate.

On facelift cars it's behind the VW badge in the top grille. As Exonian stated, all UK spec GTi's/GTD's and R's have it fitted as standard.

Limestone Grey divides opinion. I almost ordered a GTD in Limestone, but it can sometimes look a little too beige in the wrong light.

I didn’t realise the OP was talking about an R, apologies I thought he was asking about greys for a GTI.

Yes, some say that Limestone Grey is a bit of a ‘marmite’ colour. Colour is a very personal thing though and it’s probably best to see a Limestone Grey car in the metal and judge for yourself, as pictures aren’t always a true representation of the actual colour.

Regarding ACC; A small batch of the very first mk7 GTI’s built for the UK market were built without ACC, but I’m pretty certain all mk7 R’s had ACC.

Car Net App Connect was an option that was introduced for the 2016 model year when the the second generation (MIB2) infotainment units were introduced (from build week 22 in 2015). If the original owner didn’t specify this as an option, it might be possible to have it retro-activated (the cost is approx £250). I say might, because some of the early MIB2 infotainment units weren’t App Connect compatible. If the car you’re going to view doesn’t have this option activated, then get the dealer to confirm the infotainment unit is one that is App Connect compatible, I’d suggest negotiating with the dealer to retro-activate it as part of the deal if you buy the car.

Thanks guys, all helpful info. One of things about the Red one is its done under 10k miles, the grey one is under 15 so both very low miles for their age. Im guessing VIN with tell me when it was built, I'll do some digging.
