Auto-Manual Clutch Cable
« on: 12 October 2005, 19:46 »
I've just had my mechanic change my clutch cable from an auto-adjusting one (that had stopped adjusting) to a manual one.

The clutch now bites at a much better place but the clutch has gone from being light and smooth with a crisp bite with the old cable, to being really heavy with no discernable bite being felt throught the pedal with the new.

In fact it feels similar to treading on a dead animal

Is this normal or has something happened, any ideas?

didnt know there was an auto adjusting one for a mk2 but if its soft then hard means the bite is lower i guess you can adjust it yourself its pretty simple. but it sounds normal to me i cant feel the bite through the pedal.
