Car theft is  really becoming rife. Last week in the early hours of the morning caught sight a couple of hoodies getting out of a passing Ford Focus  to look at stealing my car. They walked away as it was secured  well , also with a disklok... called the police who came promptly  and must have just missed them
what gets me is that this is the second attempt and coincidentally after a stint in a local dealership too.

because of that I will be contacting the police again with details..there may be a pattern..

Following you home from the forecourt?

Or someone in the dealership passing details to some scum?

Either way, I'd tell the plod. Mind you, even if they had a dozen similar reports and the link was obvious they'd still sit on their hands - much easier to get some clearups from someone writing troll posts on Twitter than dealing with physical crime...

Might be worth seeing if you can find out if your force have a vehicle crime unit and talk directly to them.

They aren't too bothered about when and where - this happened at my local VW dealer back in March when the car was left overnight...

Great points, indeed, will report to police and I unfortunately do  suspect there is a "contact " at this very well reputed nearby NW London vw dealership. Strange as there are loads of nicer more valuable cars nearby like Range Rover, these people specifically came over to my address which is a clincher to me.
Wonder if there are linked cases and will report this dealership
No need to be followed  from forecourt as they have your address on file I suppose and easily looked at and passed on...

Will ask about a unit dedicated to car crime, thanks for the idea!

In touch with police, they will call me back and discuss further.

Seems to be rife at the moment, my CCTV picked this up at 2.22am this morning...

It might might have just been chancers testing all the cars in my road, but it has come co-incidently after I've recently got it back from the dealer...

I'll report it to the police, but I doubt they'll be interested.

Didn't look like a real scally after the car... looked more like someone just trying door handles to see if they could loot anything from inside of the car.

They lacked the usual hoody or ski mask if they were serious...

That's what it looks like, and I'm hoping. However, I do live in a quiet cut-de-sac, and she had nothing in her arms or was with anybody else, so I just hope she wasn't scouting for potential victims of a gang she may 'spot' for.
