HELP NEED WITH MY GOLF!

Hello all i have a mk3 golf 2.0 16v gti on a L-plate 94 and keep getting this problem and was wondering if anyone here can help me

for some reason the car sometimes misfires and splutters then feels like it not running well and lose of power i have given it a full service and fitted new plugs filters oil and even bought and changed the HT leads but still i get this problem i have been told it may be the coil but have no idea where that is of how much they are to replace? if anyone else has had these problem let me know and maybe u can help me cos i love driving my car but when its loses power like that spoils it

Million dollar question at the moment. I'm in the same boat, my car has now died. Hoping its something simple like a fuel pump. :cry:

custumboy - Try the ECU relay. They are only about 8-10 quid from dealership and if it aint that then you aint wasted much.

The coil is up on the bulkhead. I did all the same things as you and the coil cost me about 30quid I think.

But try the relay first.

mr.wong - for you try the fuel injection relay.

but where is the ecu relay? and will also buy the coil today are they easy to fit?

Hi must be a mk 3 thing

Mine did the same was the coil brand new 39.99 to buy euro car parts
i did nt fit each but the guy did it in minutes.

Otherwise i was told cud be ignition prob?

With most of the other relays - under the dash with the fuses.
The relays are up above the fuses, bit hard to see - best if you unscrew a small panel.

Hi there had this problem for ages now,relays are ecu No 30,fuel pump relay No 80,tried everything eiv mine come down to fuel pump losing fuel pressure  :angry:

well thanks for ur help people will get a coil and try the relays of that fails so fingers crossed!
