Slightly less ugly than the mk8 but more importantly (and relevant here) a firm quote on power as 306bhp keeping it bang on the same as the A35 and 135i.
Would the Golf R be allowed to run more power than this designer handbag version using the same chassis? Doubt it.
Or maybe there’ll be 48v hybrid higher power versions released in time to compliment the base R and S3.

Interesting that the Audi cabin is reported as a step down in quality in places too (allowing for it being a pre-production car).

Autocar this week have a test drive of the S3

- power is the same as the old model
- some centralised electronics for the driver aids
- mag ride has gone, replaced with normal hydraulic dampers for a less sporty ride
- no hybrid

Basically a mild evolution

Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black

Not sure if these have been posted yet

Doesn't look too bad and that I think is probably still styled down a bit and that (black) colour doesn't do it any favours.

Lets see what it looks like at Geneva in the colour that they think showcases it best - bet its not black...
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Not feeling the wing mirrors on the doors at all. Looks like it has big ears 😀. The mk7.5 TCR looks different but this will just be another GTi instead of a standalone model.

New 2020 Volkswagen Golf R seen without disguise

Not quite without disguise. If you look on the front bumper there's some quite obvious disguise. I'm not convinced the rear is completely without disguise either.  :rolleyes:
