I've been tempted for the res delete from Progressive Parts. But the exhaust noise on mine is definitely more than my previous 230 GTI despite the lack of upshift farts. Does a little pop flurry when fired up from cold

Thanks for reply Jim.. interesting

Whats different about yours from your previous (sorry may have missed something obvious!)

And yes that instagram vid is pretty much spot on!

I had a std Mk7.5 GTI last year (with DSG upshift farts) and would say the Performance model I have now makes a louder noise but with no upshift noise but the odd burble.

I have to agree, after jumping straight from a Mk7 PP to a Mk7.5 GTI Performance, the exhaust is a lot louder. I love it, whereas my wife is still unsure. I'm not sure what's different, is it just the larger tailpipes that make it louder?

Is it true that there's absolutely no drone - even cruising on the motorway at or above 3,000rpm? I've seen videos online showing no drone but they're always bang on 70mph...

Theres no drone at 70moh. But hit anything above 3,000rpm your ears will actually bleed with drone. Im buying a bcs cat back as soon as poss. Mine is a clubsport tho

Hi Andy

Question for you; when you bought your clubsport, you changed the exhaust so pressumably wasnt happy with the sound to some extent.

I understand there will be a difference between 'standard' clubsport and clubsport S.. but you suggested, as 1 possible option, clubsport S would be good but any reason you didnt go for it yourself? Fitment? Noise not what looking for?

Id be okay with going for a expensive system (if justifed in better results than cheaper options like the res delete) as long as it still passes MOT and I dont have to faf around taking bits on and off to pass.

Thanks again

Hi Robo

Have you heard a bcs cat back in the flesh before? Do they do them for the standard mk7 gti (non facelift) do you know?

Thanks again

To be absolutely honest MT3, I didn't really give the stock Clubsport exhaust a chance. After finding that the Clubsport S exhaust wouldn't fit to my 7.5, I ordered the remus backbox delete and it was a special order at the time. Despite me changing my car, to avoid losing the money, I went ahead and fitted it almost immediately to the Clubsport.

I can't say what the difference is between the Clubsport and Clubsport S exhausts. They are different part numbers so there's clearly some difference but not sure whether anyone got to the bottom of it. The Clubsport S definitely sounds more aggressive (on YouTube at least) but how much is down to the tune and lack of sound deadening... As such, I'm not sure I would change a Clubsport one for a Clubsport S one.

As far as I know none of the items here would need to be changed back for MOT purposes, as Jaceyboy mentioned I think only decatting would cause you issues there.

I’ve gone for the VagSport res delete, fitted today

First impressions- deeper and more noise but not daft. Couldn’t hear any drone on way home with a mix of motorway and A roads. Few burbles when going into first at junctions and certainly sounds great under hard acceleration.

There’s a video on the comments section of their post on Facebook.

Hi mt3, i have heard them on other cars. Mate had 1 on a edition 30 and it sounded brilliant.
And yes they do them for the standard gti as the standard mk7 gti and clubsport are all the same parts. I cant imagine they sound bad. Il be giving them a call in the new year to discuss what im after anyway as they do so many options
