A Clubsport S silencer has the benefits of being OEM and under the radar of insurance (not that I’d advocate not telling the insurance company but.. ) plus a main dealer would never notice the different part.
I went to an open day at a well known local VW specialist back in the summer and a guy turned up in an R with a res delete. I’m not sure what other mods he had, a good few I’d imagine, but God Almighty did it sound rough!
The proprietor of said establishment made a few comments about the noise and general consensus was less than positive going by the amount of Gareth Hunt coffee type gestures being subtly made. (Anyone under 40 will have absolutely no idea what I mean there!)
Hopefully all res deletes aren’t the same but if they are then your neighbours won't like you much.
Definitely something you’d want to hear on someone else’s car before getting the angle grinder out.
Our resonator delete sounds superb, it’s my wife’s car so I can assure you it isn’t loud, it’s gives more burbles and believe me there is no drone at all, well worth while and best thing is it’s reversable
Maybe the guy had a decat as well.
I didn’t speak to him to ask.
It’s definitely a mod I’d have considered myself in the past so was disappointed in the noise that particular car made. I’ll ask some guys who might know him to find out what other mods he has.
