Weird smell and no, it's not me for once...

Evening all

I'm occasionally getting a nasty smell in the cabin, it's happened twice now in the last few weeks though not so strong today. It's a chemical smell, a bit like a slovent or glue. It eases off after a few minutes but has come back the next time the car was started. Could it be the aircon is leaking? Does that smell? It was serviced in May but it does seem to work well. I can't think of anything else that might smell this way.

Not sure what the dealer equivalent of an aircon system cleaning “bomb” is, but could it be that, hidden away, somewhere in the works?

Have you popped in any after market led's anywhere?  Had prob with one a couple of years ago and it gave off chemical like smell

Thanks both, I don't think a cleaning bomb is likely as it was 5 months after the service when I first smelt it. I have added footwell leds but a couple of years ago, I'll bear that in mind though should I get the smell again. Thankfully it's all been whiff free today....
