new tyres
« on: 10 October 2005, 16:38 »
I've asked this question before but would appreciate any response. I have a mk2 16v with bbs alloys. Currently running with 185/55 tyres. Looking to change to 195s' but unsure about the profile. Should I stick with a 55 or go down to 50 (195/55)?

Any cheap tyre retailers near slough or harrow?

Many Thanks.

standard 195 tyre is a 195/50 I'd go for them
check out www.mytyres.co.uk for cheap tyres delivered to your door. My 195 toyos were under £30 each delivered.

You got any pics of your dad's split ?

Got my Eagle F1s from the same place- much cheaper than any of the local establishments could do.  Go with the standard fitment- there's a reason why VW chose those sizes!!  Also saves £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£ on rim work when you hit a pothole (as I found out....)

yeh 195/50/15s on my bbs's too- they feel firmer and grippier
could try mill autos near taunton in somerset - i buy all my decent tyres from them!

I bought some cheapo roadhokumchamps this time though as devon winter driving is puncture-tastic
If only my Volkswagen was as reliable as everyone else's...

195/45/15 will be fine as well. Eagle F1s ot Toyos are good.
