Mines in Grimsby. Coming to dealers by Wed. Can.t release cars . Still waiting on VW to forward codes on?

SO frustrating! Mine is still in transit, and has been for a few days now. Just waiting for the confirmation that it's arrived at the dealers...

Mines the same, says stage 5c of 7 (in transit near the UK)    What does near the UK mean?

Mine just says 5. Where do I find the A, B, or C suffix?
Sold - Octavia 2.0 PD Tdi. Shark remap. EGR Delete. Decat. H&R Shocks. Hybrid Turbo.

Sold - 2016 GTI PP, Manual. Pure White. Keyless.

Current - GTI Performance, DSG, Isaac Blue, Brescia 19”.

I first received a text and email from VW Customer Care on 29 November saying...your car has progressed to stage 5a of 7 (in transit, left the factory)
I received a further text and email yesterday saying..your car has progressed to stage 5c of 7 (in transit, near the UK)
Might be worth ringing VW/Retailer tomorrow for an update

It's very teasing knowing it's sat at the dealers but can't have it yet  I hope you're right Wigan and they'll be available this side of Christmas!

I could have mine on Friday, according to my dealer. Awaiting codes, as they cannot register the car without them. You would have thought the would have sent the codes as soon as the car was released for import. Again frustrating

Whats the official reason they give for the delay neepy?

VW need to apply for an MVRIS (Motor Vehicle Registration Information System) code for the model, and it can take up to 3 weeks for the code to come through.

My understanding of the process is that the model needs to be WLTP approved before VW can apply for an MVRIS code and the cars can only then be registered with the DVLA till they have this code. The body which issues these MVRIS codes is separate to the DVLA. The cars have started to come through in anticipation of the codes being released and in my case my car has arrived early, before the code being in place. The same thing happened with Tiguans back in Sept/Oct, If i remember correctly those guys only had to wait a week or two. I dunno if Christmas may have an affect on the timing of things for us

I think someone mentioned further back in this thread that there was a cut off point for dealers calling off cars to be transported from the port, not sure myself.

It took my car approx 10 days from being at 5a in transit:left factory to stage 7 arrived at the dealers
