Hi all,

New here but seems like my order saga is just like everyone else's... Ordered a GTI Performance in early June, was originally told 16 weeks, then it's back to December but not holding my breath!

Just wanting to see it and drive it now

Told by my dealer today that l won.t see my car until mid Jan, as l.ve always suspected. Even though l was first told end of Nov, as the car was being built end of Oct. Asked what goodwill gesture would they be offering. Was told to ring VW UK. They did.nt want to know at all. What gesture does the forum think would be acceptable, if at all offered.

Hey Folks,

I just got off the phone with my dealer, my PP was produced on the first week of Nov and is marked as with WLTP certificated week 47th. As I live in Poland the car will be transported from Germany by land and is expected here to be ready for pick up late nov or early dec.

Keeping fingers crossed for you guys!

I got £250 of John Lewis vouchers back in 2013 but I'm certain they came from my supplying dealer and not VW UK. Free service pack if you aren't already getting one. Free rubber mats?

I spoke to VW Customer Services yesterday on the phone and they confirmed that my car was stock banked by the factory but has now been released for delivery, however not to expect it till the first week of Jan still.

Does this mean the car will now be shipped to the UK/Retailer for storage neepy?

VW UK will give you f**k all. Back in 2015, I had an epic 8.5 months wait for my R and chased VW UK.

The salesman  honoured the fixed part-ex price for my GTD - all at a time VW were knocking out lease Rs in 3 months. VW UK strong-armed the dealership to surprise me with a free Lifeshine, despite my insistence that any gesture was to come from VW and not the dealership as it was out of their control.

I ordered a Polo GTI+ in May this year, jumping on an unallocated scheduled build. Expected at the end of July  the dealership agreed I could pick it up in September on a 68 plate. Early July comes and VW drop the bombshell that all pre-WLTP VWs need to be registered no later than Aug 15th. Rang VW UK and they couldn't give a toss that they had kept me and the dealership in the dark about this requirement for registration. Argued that a late 18 plate would be worth an estimated £750 less than an early 68 plate registered just a few weeks later and they should compensate me. They basically said take the car or cancel the order and argue for the deposit back. They are incredibly arrogant towards their customers. Lucky for them that their cars are desirable otherwise they'd be screwed.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I’m not sure watchdog, all they said was that it has now been released for delivery but don’t expect it to be in my possession till first week in Jan. It’s possibly in that new but disused Berlin airfield that VW have rented out to store vehicles, so will take even longer to get here if so. I read somewhere that once they start shipping, the factory will ship the ones coming straight off the production line first and those have been stored will take longer, might be the case that others receive theirs before mine, if true.
