GTI Suspention Question

I’ve got a 2018 Golf GTI performance and love it. I had a 2018 Golf R that I didn’t really take too. Apart from one thing, the ride hight.

So my question is do the cars share the same struts and if I were to purchase the R spring it would lover the car to the ride hight of the R ?

I’m not interested in making the setup harder I’m purely looking for the hight of the R.

I've lowered mine on Eibach springs and the ride is still like standard. Here's a link showing the difference between stock height and the Eibachs

STD Golf 1492mm
GTI         1482mm
R            1465mm

I'd wait to see that confirmed by VW first. Same was written about the CS by some magazines and in fact it's the same height as a GTI. Maybe it's the default line that they use when talking about every new sporty variant...

I'd be very wary of using R springs on a GTI - there's quite a bit of weight difference between them, especially at the rear.

If you want a lower car, I'd recommend Eibachs, I've got the sportlines on mine and I admit to losing some comfort. If you want OEM levels of comfort (or at least close) I'd go for the pro-kit.

Many thanks for all the replies. If I went down the pro kit springs would I need the car to have a geo and Adas reset after they have been fitted ?

I've got the pro kit on mine (see the link above) and it doesn't spoil the comfort whatsoever. I had mynsprings fitted along with spacers at Awesome GTi for £249 inc geometry reset.
