Hi JB

I coded someone’s 7.5 R a couple weeks back and did the inner brake lights adaptation using obdeleven and it worked fine.

This was the coding used.

9- Central Electronics
16- 31347
10-Adaptations

Left side inner:
Change [8] Leuchte23sl HLC10 - Lichtfunktion C23 from Not Active to Brake Light
To increase brightness:  Change [10] Leuchte23sl hcl10 - Dimmwert CD 23 from 0 to 100

Right side inner:
Change [8] Leuchte24sl HRA65 - Lichtfunktion C24 from Not Active to Brake Light
To increase brightness: Change [10] Leuchte24sl HRA65 - Dimmwert CD 24 from 0 to 100

Yes. These are the instructions I tried. When I went into Central Electrics it didn’t ask for the security code as per the instructions until I had done the coding but says the adaptions were successful. Also, I am assuming that brake light is “Bremslicht” in the availability options??
Did you have to do any kind of light reset after to get them working?
Thanks

I can’t exactly remember about the security code bit as I did a few different adaptations that day, but I tend to just troubleshoot things if they don’t follow the prescribed route!  It’s possible I might have gone into the security code menu and entered it there when there was no prompt for it earlier but can’t remember.

Yes Bremslicht is Brake Light.

No, there was no reset done, just the coding.

Others have said they’ve used the same coding as in a pre facelift and that’s worked. See coding below for that.  But I think you’ve tried this haven’t you?

Module 09 (Central Electrics)
Security Access 16
Code = 31347
Adaptation 10
Channel 8 -Leuchte27 NSL RC6
Lichtfunktion C27
Set to brake light = Bremslicht (default is not active)

To increase brightness
Channel (10)-Leuchte27 NSL RC6
Dimming CD27
Set to 100 (default is 0)

 It’s confusing.

Hope you can get it sorted.

Could somebody please explain why anyone would need to modify a car's brake lights?

so instead of just the outside lights coming on the inners come on as well so it’s easier to see your braking from behind with a full spread

It should also be noted that the full brake light option is for regions where rear fog lights are not required. In this country, a fog light has to be a minimum distance of 100mm away from a brake light. That's why we don't have the inner brake lights functioning.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I was fairly sure there was a MOT construction reason rather than VW just being funny...
