Just logged on after only a couple of days away, and I find I am trawling through endless pages of "the french are great" drivvel. I only want to read about the things I find interesting in here, and sadly boys (and girls) the french automobile industry doesn't come into it. So I am asking you nicely, and as one of the entrusted moderators. If you really feel the need to bring you peugeot-passion to the internet - go to a site where you will be treated with the same amount of respect, that we would like to show other golf owners.
and to the true VW enthusiasts here, it would be a shame to see the reputation of this site, that JV has worked to gain, be ruined by replying to the mindless cr@p that comes from them - I reckon a veto on the French cars would make them lose interest pretty quick and we can carry on with the knowledge we drive superior cars (and dont bother quoting that, Frenchy, as I wont bite to a pithy response) and share that with other like minded people

Actually, it was Dinky or Dizzie who wrote a nice piece regarding test driving a 206GTI 180 that started it all.
There was a fairly popular opinion that French cars are crap by the membership, apart form one sad old geek who had a firend with a Mi16 205, who then went off and told tales to all the other Pug forums, and they all joined up here.
Obviously, they came here because they run out of things to say other than things like "mine failed its MOT" or "i've just trashed mine into a tree/lorry/gatepost/fence" or "mines broken down and the garage said buy a new one but what with my impending purchase of a new shell suit I can't afford a new car" and all that sort of drivel, they were called to War on a proper GTI forum.
It was only after some not inconsiderable baiting did GolfVR6 finally lose his nerve.
From what I can see, everyone jumped on the bandwagon two weekends ago whilst i was away. Last week just had a few stragglers saying things like "i look good in a shell suit" and stuff like that. Not important stuff.
