Couple of things as you seem to have flown off the handle here.

You perhaps need to look up the meaning of off topic. You subject says debadge and debadge and you’ll notice my reply mentioned both those words.
You implied you don’t like it’s being a GTI which is the reason for taking them off. Maybe you should have stated that you didn’t like the colour of them.

I had gloss black badgskins on my Indium Grey and they looked great, liked the subtle look and should have actually got the black side ones as well.

Well the topic includes the words debadge and rebadge yes but in the context it was clear what it was about, not opinions on whether to de-badge or not - I'm dead sure I don't like the red GTI PP badges on mine and not interested in entering a debate on that at all - but on how much of a PITA the process of removing may be. Also, someone else misunderstood this too: I don't plan to re-badge the car on purpose after a while, that would be kind of pointless of-course. I am only bringing this up because I am thinking of whatever might affect  resale value (in general) and if for the next buyer the absence of stock badges were a deal-breaker I'd like to be prepared and have an idea of how to restore them, simple as that.

It's a pity we lost time arguing on that especially since you can provide useful info regarding the badgeskin options, have to admit that sounds like an alternative I hadn't thought of (or even was aware of) but I want to make sure the finish looks like stock, hate most cosmetic mods that don't give an OEM feel. Thanks for those photos, they look good I think and I'd definitely go for black on black side blades with GTI logo too. In your opinion did they look and feel like an OEM GTI badge just in black colour? Think I missed why you removed them?

They looked great. Easy enough to apply. Not sure how they’d work over the red ones as the red badges do appear to be slightly different as the std silver ones are completely flat.

Don’t have the Indium Grey car anymore but they were left on it.

Ok that sounds good then. Oh yes I remember the 7.5 swap now, so your buyer did not mind them, good sign.

So, considering all the info and suggestions so far i think the way to go would be:

a) hatch badge delete, I just love a clean hatch look I guess and the CS bigger tailpipes and spoiler would create some sort of mystery/uncertainty as to which Golf is that exactly which I like, might be even taken for a standard Golf which would be even funnier  :tongue:

b) black on black side blade badgeskins and black for the front one. I quite like the side blade design so with a different colour (black would match the rest of the gloss black nicely) I would be fine to keep them on. The front I'd very much like to get rid of but seeing as it's not that simple, black inlay could improve it in my eyes, maybe, I guess I can only try and see what I think about it.

If you have deep pockets I would suggest;

And then one of these for the front;

De-badge the rear.  :cool:

Not liking the side ones as still the GTI is in red but the front in black with a red frame could be an option considering there's red tones in the front grille and headlights. Need to think how that would match a black/black side badgeskin. Rear is definitely going for de-badge though.

Completely black?

Yeah that's what I thought cheers, although now that I see it it looks too dark maybe?  :tongue:  Probably I'll give the badgeskins a try first. I think I like the fact they leave the frame in silver.

Now I'd be happy to do the badges completely black (especially the boot one) as I've got an early PP model (so just chrome badges) and it's a white car.

That said, I'd also do the boot badge black with white inlays and the front badges white to match the body colour.

Wouldn't know what to do with the side blades though. Maybe leave the red bit red and do the surround black or change the red bit white with the same black surround?

Just typed this and thought "thread hijack" to myself, but posted it anyway lol.

Badgeskins delivered today and at last I have my personal color code in place:

Silver = GTI
Red = GTI PP
Black = Clubsport

 :grin:

Very happy with both the quality of the vinyl stickers (they fit perfectly although the "G" has a slight difference in the radii only noticeable from really close though) and the color choice. There are many black references on the Clubsport so to me, black badges look right at home.

The only problem is either Badgeskins or me got the blade badges wrong, or opposite to be precise. I thought I had ordered the red interior of the blades in black, instead I got all the silver bits in black (GTI letters and silver blade) leaving the red interior there. I want to keep GTI in silver and instead replace red color with black. I'll see how I get this sorted.

All in all quite happy with the result and for now at least I've forgotten about debadging, the new black badge look does the trick for me.
