ACTIVE INFO SAT NAV MISSING ON DASH

hi all ....quite simple ...My NAV option has disappeared from my dash in the 7.5GTI . The option to select it is gone ..on the infotainment system if i switch to the dash view it simply goes black on the screen and nothing appears on the dash and again i dont even have the option to select the Sat Nav view on the dash ...

Are you saying you still have the "NAV" menu in the active info display but when you select it, it doesn't actually show you any maps ?

If so, assuming you have the standard 8" Discover media head unit, then it can't display maps on the head unit and the active info display at the same time (unlike the Navigation Pro 9.2" which can). If this is your problem, simply go to the Nav screen on the head unit, and in the row of icons at the bottom of the screen, I think it's third from right, there is a toggle button that flips the map display from the head unit to active info display and back again. Try that.

On the other hand if the Nav menu has completely disappeared from the instrument cluster, then I don't know. Think this might be a dealer fix ?

Hi Soot ..

Yeh the Nav option is totally gone from the head unit ...used to work fine and all of a sudden its gone ...makes not sense .

Things to try:

1)hold down the power button on the head unit for about 15-20 seconds to make it reboot

or

2) switch off the car, lock it, leave it half an hour (maybe while you are at work) and see if it comes back

or

3) Go into the settings menu and do a factory reset on the nav unit

Do it in that order.

Annoying but that's VW MIB's for you, they don't get any better over time!

The sd card hasnt popped out or missing from the slot in the glovebox? Check that aswell

If you have been viewing the Nav in the Active Info Display then choose to view the Nav on the head unit. As said before if you have standard Nav you can’t view it in both places at the same time. When you switch back to the head unit view you have to press I think, the view button? along the bottom of the screen to select the head unit view.
Not sat in front of it at the minute but I know you have to press something to see it.

no sd card needed in a pro as it’s loaded on to the hard drive

Hi all ,

thanks for the replies and suggestions , havent had a chance to mess with it but will do first thing in the morning .

SD card is in and fine ...tried the restore factory settings yesterday and nothing changed ...will give it all a go tomorrow in the hope it work otherwise off the dealer !

Will let you guys know how it pans out !
