Looong time lurker - new arrival inbound!

Hi All,

I've been lurking around here quite some time, having been more active when i bought a Mk6 in 09, but nothing much since. HOWEVER: after much reading, viewing, feeling a tad envious etc.......over the last year or so, (and racking up 205,000 on my Mk 6), it's New Arrival time!

Just wanted to share as rather excited, despite my, errr, middleagedness 

Roll on Saturday 1000 hrs......

She's a new 5dr GTI PP with Art Velours trim; climate screen.

I was lucky to find one in stock at a local dealer, after doing the CarWow thing, so no long wait for me and a fair deal. It's even the colour I had in mind too.......

Gonna be a awful long time until 1000hrs on Sat from here.

Good to hear you got a good deal.  I’m on my third carwow car.  Local dealer wasn’t best price but they matched it.

I bought my car using Carwow, it meant a 300 mile trip from Southport to Portsmouth, but it was worth it for the saving.

The dealers in my area couldn't get close.

My first time with CarWow and have to say I'm very impressed. I did uber amounts of research looking at cars available pretty much all over the country, and then CW popped up this one in their 'cars available in 2 weeks.' Dealer has been very good so far too.

The hard bit is going to be making sure my childish enthusiasm on Saturday morning doesn't get TOO embarrassing for those in the vicinity!

Welcome Dunc, the PP will be a significant upgrade from the mk6, not least of all because your old car sounds like it’s well worn in by now!
That’s quite a mileage to wrack up, has the mk6 suffered many faults in that time?

What's the general view on Carwow? Did they deliver the car to you or did you pick it up? Heard of one internet broker (can't remember which one) delivering a new car where the driver had been smoking in it during the drive and had spilt crisps everywhere...

Carwow just find the best price.

You just put in what car you want, and what extra's and then wait for the dealers to start submitting their best offers.

Then select the one you want based on price and / or distance.

It's the dealer you deal with, not Carwow.


But I think its best to get the cheapest, don't worry too much about the distance, you can always get cheap train tickets on the trainline.com,  and you can still use your local dealer for servicing etc...

Some dealers offer incentives to collect, such as gift packs, tank of fuel etc.  I saw one in Cornwall that paid for an overnight hotel stay.

I bought my Audi from Coventry and they picked me up from the station.

Many offer driven or trailer delivery too.
