Another proud new owner

I know, I know... we've all seen a Golf before! But I'm not the sort to post this kind of thing on Facebook, so I need to share it SOMEWHERE!
Arrived this morning. Non PP GTI, White, Dynaudio. Be still my heart!
7 Whole miles...
Delivered dirty. Has clearly been left in the rain. Still a handsome brute though!
Nice butt.
Out with the 'old', in with the new. Will miss you, Klaus!
That's the lot. Thanks for indulging me!

Lovely, congratulations! I've wrote before that I think the GTI (as opposed to the R) gained a lot from the FL aesthetic changes, a more dynamic/mean look that suits it well. Saw a white one the other day that affirmed that thought. I can only forgive the lack of PP in this because it's a 3-door and they're a (nice) rare sight
Enjoy!

agree....nice to see a GTI with the right number of doors
and also agree, the FL changes have really suited the GTI, and I think that Red and White show off the changes the most. So, good choice mate
PS, Dynaudio, is it really worth it ? I think the standard systems sounds brilliant, so Dynaudio must be out of this world

I've only gone for a brief drive as I'm still at work, so haven't fully tweaked the settings on the audio yet. BUT - it's better than the standard on the Merc, I can say that for sure. Will need to feed the subwoofer tonight and see what it spits out
As for non-pp... I didn't really think that I could justify the added cost of the pp in the long run. 230hp is plenty, and I can't really see myself noticing a difference of ~%6. I certainly don't think I'd notice the addition of the diff either!
As for it being 3 door... not having kids does have its perks

My youngest kid is 13 so he can climb in the back easily enough.
I also bought a non performance and yes it's plenty fast enough
My plan all along was to spend the least as poss ie no extras but then spend that saved money on some decent lightweight alloy wheels and better tyres
so that's exactly what I've done.
And I also bought some gloss black mirror caps, that's made a nice difference.

I'm really very tempted to get some mirror caps... You're right, that stuff goes so well with white or red. Also tempted with the idea of wrapping the roof in black, but it's a lease! Surely it can't be THAT hard to take a wrap off of a roof?

weytf.....yeah, Im thinking the same, I fancy a black gloss roof, and the roof spoiler completely wrapped. This is how the new Golf TCR is,
and yes, its easy to remove a roof wrap, I've done that with my last car, no problem..

Hmmm... I'm now seriously considering it. What do you think, Jeff? I think I prefer the spoiler partially wrapped:
OR
Also, do you think it's worth getting them to wrap the mirrors, rather than buying covers? That way you ensure a perfect match.

I personally think wrap the whole spoiler like the Golf TCR,
And yes, not a bad idea to get the mirror caps wrapped, if thats possible ?
They're fairly easy to get on and off, just be careful not to smash the mirror glass, but I managed it OK.
The mirror caps I bought were about £30 from Ebay. They took 3 weeks to arrive as they came from China, so that's another reason to get yours wrapped, who wants to wait three weeks
