That's excellent, Col! Did they find one to your spec laying around then? Did they give you any cash off for your trouble?

Nearly new was my first option but a 6 month old car with 6000 miles was more than new offer price, and on PCP was £80 a month more.  So would go down the PP route before that at the moment

Yeah that was the same with me.  I originally started looking at nearly new, but it actually worked out more than a brand new car due to the zero contribution from VW and the much higher finance interest rate.

It really does depend on timing. I got a slightly older but slightly lower mileage PP for far less than a new one. Admittedly it was about 3 months or so before the 7.5 introduction, there was a used offer on and I didn't need PCP, but it can be done. Even if you don't have the cash to hand, nothing stopping you (currently) from settling up and taking advantage of the better finance rates elsewhere.

I'm not interested in PCP deals or rates - I just can't find a car....

I wouldn't get hung up on DCC.

I had it on my last Mk7 GTD and I don't have it now on my Mk7.5 GTD.

Of course I understand what it does, but I haven't missed it one jot!

It's not so much me, more others I have to transport... I have driven with/without and found it a noticeable difference.

On the subject of extras, while I like the tartan seats, the trim around the central arm rest and doors that goes with it seems a bit cheap and not in keeping with a £30k car. If I do end up putting in a factory order, I'll go for Art Velours which adds faux leather to these bits.

In the 3 years and 75k+ I travelled I can't say there was ever a single passenger who could tell the difference between the DCC modes. Seriously! They used to ask me what it was, so I showed them and they couldn't tell the difference. Not even car enthusiast friends. You can tell as the driver because you are more connected with the car, but as a passenger.

Maybe its different if you are on 19's but...

I'd tell them that you had it and have it switched to comfort... they won't know the difference.

Its not like a Golf GTI has suspension like a go kart, I'd say its the least hard suspension you'll find on anything with a warm/hot label.

I’m lowered on 19s with no DCC and I find the ride perfect and not harsh at all.
