Replacement Number Plates

Bloody hell. 3 pages on how to stick a number plate on!!! What did we do before the internet?

Constantly refit numberplates due to dodgy motorfactors double sided tape?

What's the general consensus from people on the rear number plate? Stick it straight onto the bumper? Screw it onto the bumper? Supplying dealer has screwed original plate straight through the bumper and not exactly left the plate even and straight either. I've got an autostadt number plate holder which the new plate will slip into fine but it means I'd have to do a new hole in the bumper possibly two. Advice welcome.

I'd personally just use double sided tape again.  A wee slip on the drilling and it will end up squint again

Yeah was thinking that. Was expecting pre drilled holes like on the Mk5 golf and Jetta but remembered the plate was actually attached to the boot lid. My OCD is kicking in now so I want it lined up perfectly and even

I found the rear a nightmare to centre. I was out with a plumbline dropped from the badge with a mark on the number plate to signify what was centre of that as well.
Then you have the problem of height wise 
My OCD has taken a hammering with our 3 Golfs and private plates
