My Clubsport tends to mostly do shortish runs in light traffic and averages around high twenties.

A couple of weeks ago I did some long distance work including a fair bit of motorway and fast A road driving in light traffic which netted the grand improvement of absolutely zilch.
The car was still recording high 20's.

I'd have to try deliberately to keep mine down in the 20's on any run, it must be the remap making it more efficient. My tank range is always in the region of 400, bit less in the winter but over 400 this time of year...

Strange... my remap seems to be having the opposite effect   But then again I am taking any chance i find to open the throttle (within reason). I have only ever put 98 in it but I think the pedalbox (that me and Exonian share) might be a bit to blame...

Pedalbox will have no effect what so ever on fuel economy.

If you're using more throttle more often how can it not affect fuel economy?

In theory not, but you tend to use the throttle a lot more with it fitted, partly because it’s hard not to and partly because it’s much nicer to

Exactly. I guess in theory you could probably use less pedal compared to stock and end up asking for the same throttle and having similar acceleration and fuel economy as before but what would be the point in that? We all know it's not happening and as far as I'm concerned I do squeeze the pedal a bit more often whenever I get the chance to get that pleasant blast forwards and i happily pay the price for that.

Kind of makes the magic pedal box a bit pointless. Just my opinion of course.

Lol.. why? You want to open the throttle earlier than the ECU wants and you get just that. The fact that it's a nice feeling that becomes addictive and you tend to get carried away is just a side effect that has to do more with your self control, rather than the box's efficiency to deliver...

What remap do you have that needs the pedal box as well?

It's from a Swedish tuner but it does not really matter. An ECU remap does not mean you will get the pedalbox effect in throttle response, ECU and throttle maps are two different things and it is up to the tuner how much he will modify the throttle, some change it more some less. Mine was slightly improved after the remap but there is still a significant effect from the pedalbox, I can see it when I occasionally set the pedalbox to stock mode so it has stayed on.
