MK7 2018 GTD Upgrades- Advice Sought
« on: 01 April 2018, 15:54 »
Hi all,

I purchased a new 18 Plate GTD, DSG in Pure White yesterday 3Dr.

I am replacing the standard Alloys with Fox Racing MS007, so question ! I'm looking at spacers what would the masses suggest, I'm thinking 12mm front and 15mm rear just so it can fill up the arches a little more without rubbing. Thoughts?

Car will arrive in 8 weeks but I've bought the alloys already.

Next question, ABT Sound Control unit, are they available in the UK has anyone got one?

I'm also looking at a Miltek Cat back system, again has anyone got one on a GTD, and impressions?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

It’s less than a day since you posted your query - bank holiday weekend too, when many forum members may be busy with families, so not looking at the forum. Could explain why you’ve not got any responses yet. Curious as to why the urgency; there’s eight weeks to go you get your car.

On the subject of the wheels; assume you’ve compared the specs of your new wheels and the standard Sevilla wheels that are fitted to the mk7.5 GTD? I see that the Fox Racing MS007 wheels come in a variety of different sizes, widths and offsets, so depending on the width and offset of the wheels that you’ve bought (you didn’t tell us in your original post), you might not need spacers. Assume your wheels were supplied with spigot rings, as the centre bore of the MS007 is larger than the standard VW centre bore, which is 57.1.

Don't know why you'd be changing the standard Nogaro wheels anyway. They are an excellent wheel as standard.

Down to personal choice, while they are good I prefer something different to what everyone else has.

No urgency, I like to be informed and organized- Oh and coming from the M3cutters forum I'm used to an active forum, my previous was an E92 V8 M3- 470 BHP Tuned by Evolve.

Obviously compared Specs, there are two sizes of MS007's available so yes I probably should have been clearer, I've chosen 18" 8.5J so an inch wider than stock but given a lot of people run 20mm spacers on the rear I thought I would ask. Yes Spigot Rings supplied. The MS007 can only be purchased with the recommended specs, PCD, OFFSET, WIDTH and Load.

I don't yet know if they will fill up the arches as much as I would like.
