Do you know for certain it's going to Grimsby? Seems odd because if your dealer is Lookers at Silverlink then it'll definitely be going to Port of Tyne and not Grimsby. When I bought my gti from Lookers Northallerton it went to Port of Tyne.

That’s what the web chat rep told me when I asked which port.  Next time I’m on I will ask again and if I get the same answer I will query it.  Did seem weird though.

For those of you who had BW 12/03/18 and were pleased with having your car in Emden this week (a number of us), the good news is that the ship 'Malacca Highway' is en route to Sheerness for those of us in the south and the ship 'City of Paris' is en route to Grimsby for those of you in the north.
It is getting close!

Fingers crossed for Sheerness, my GTi has been sat in Emden for a week and if it gets on this sailing I will be able to get to Gillingham to collect straight after my lease GTD goes back.

Mine is finally on a boat  Got a notification this morning. 

Its on the City of Amsterdam which left Emden at 15:00 yesterday and is currently just off the English coast.  Due in Grimsby around 11:00 this morning 

The web chat person couldn't tell me why it was going to Grimsby rather than the Tyne, but said it would be put on a transporter to my local dealer.

Unless VW have changed the process the dealer is the one who normally puts the request in for transport. Suppose it doesn't really matter as long as your car turns up correctly.

Might give the dealer a ring today and see when they think I might have it. 

Has anyone who reached stage 6 last week seen much progress?

My GTI has now shipped and is due into Sheerness tonight, as my dealer is only 20 miles from the port I expect to collect next week

Nada!  I've emailed the dealer on Thursday about swapping the number plate and had no response.  Was kind of hoping that collection would be this week (the step 6 SMS arrived today). Can't wait for it to arrive.... The 1.5 Diesel is now being put under enormous strain at junctions....  No point handing it over with anything more than the legal minimum on the tyres....

Spoke to my dealer yesterday, my car went to “Stage 6 arrived in U.K.” on Friday 9th March, they expect to receive it early next week.
