I would look into a dtuk pedal box for sharper responses. I never really seen the need for one, but now that I have it I couldn't go back to driving without it. There are multiple settings as well, so you will be sure to get one that suits. I currently have mine set to sport which I find perfect for daily driving and b roads as well.

Yeah another for the pedal box, I have one, if I choose to switch it off and having a light foot the gti does feel slow to me but if the pedal box is on it really feels like a hot hatch.

I agree entirely with the OP. Definite lag. I came from a TT with the same engine and that respondes immediately when you put your foot down whatever the revs/speed. I expected the same and was very disappointed by the GTI.

As others have suggested I'm planning to try the pedal box - just hope it does thhe trick. Most people seem to rate it highly.

I also agree entirely with the OP and I also will be investing in a pedal box shortly for me 67 plate GTI 230.  Most disappointing thing about the car by a mile.

Out of interest - does anyone who has owned both Mk 7 and Mk 7.5 GTI think this is in any way a new development with the 7.5 GTI or was the throttle response lag every bit as bad on the Mk 7?

I have drove both and while they seemed the same I can't be sure because I'm so used to a pedal box in my car.
