Golfdave - I’ve been looking at your thread for jack pads and also under body trim.

Do you know if these will fit the CSS?

Looking under my car it doesn’t look to have any more underbody panels than a normal golf?

Fancy them jack pads as the stone chip gets knackered using the sill jacking points

Under body trim...you would be able to fit the full cover engine bay skid tray or the thin areo tray...best from a GTE as allowing more air...

The panel from the rear of front subframe to the cross brace under gearstick...straight fit.....& the rear panel to the passenger side of the fuel tank covering the exhaust tunnel near the fuel tank....

Thats all that should fit the Hatch..& the jack pads should be a straight fit also..

You'll have to jack car up & take some pics to compare to mine for same ares..or dropbox them & I'll have a look?..

whatever you feel comfortable with & whatever the module will go down to...some rare ones (it has been reported) will do off (inactive), & most do "weak"...car can be set to "strong" from factory or usually a middeling setting, of normal/standard..

I’ve been under the car a couple of times and I did notice the front undertray looked very short though - nowhere near the sump never mind the subframe. The mechanic didn’t take it off when he changed the oil anyway!

The exhaust tunnel is exposed right along the car. I don’t think the underbody is any different to a regular GTI


Did you notice any increase in temperature with the larger front undertray?

I had one in my mk6 gti and the oil temp went up maybe 1 or 2 degrees if I remember.

Also do you have the part number for the GTE one?

Does that have plenty of cooling ducts? I saw one (assume diesel) and it didn’t have any ducts.

Is it same as mk6 - undertray and 3x additional screws?cheers

Yep you have the standard "half" tray...so choice of same thickness but full length to front of front subframe..."aero" tray..this is just three additional "bolts" to the subframe...you have to still use the 8 black screws that fix the half tray also...

Or thicker reinforce GRP skid tray..additional two brackets to bolt to chassis rails...& a further 4 bolts for the tray up front (7 bolts & 7 screws)

The front exhaust tunel tray wil be a stright fit & adds better areo...

GTE ful engine tray..has loads more ducts....I'll dig out the part number its in one of my threads....

Obvious from looking at both photos that the "3Q0-825-235-A" is the standard half length tray.

The "3Q0-825-236" is the full length aero tray (specifically from the GTE Golf).

Neither is the "skid tray" as they are just thin plastic.

That looks similar to the one I put on the mk6 with a few vents added

Will ring vw and get a price.

I would put the exhaust tunnel ones in too but would be worried about heat

Don't worry about heat many people have done these & VW designed them for the MK7 Golf...even with a full skid tray & less openings in sunny south USA not much heat build up...& I have only seen +3C compared to before on hot sunny day 2hrs drive & then heat soak it..

Do NOT make your own cover to fit between the rear of the front exhaust tunnel cover & the front of the fuel tank.....a UK member on MK7 did....& I warned him not as VW don/t make one.....I was right...3hr drive on motorway he had heat build up & inside the cabin the tunnel got warm....too warm.....basically the air that goes into engine bay via the front try openings, exits the engine bay via the exhaust tunnel...getting hotter all the time..fitting the VW exhaust front cover forces this air around the front part of the exhaust to keep it cooler, then it really needs to exit out & downwards...

so just fit what VW make...
