Generally 1* plates are worth more than 6* plates, even if only a few weeks apart.

Is this a serious comment or you just having a laugh! Do you have any evidence of this? Perhaps if you sell a couple years later....but even then everyone would look at the month of first reg!

Mines in the country and should be with dealer shortly. I've asked to have it ASAP!! They said i can have it by end of Jan.
I'm not waiting another month , I'm already itching too much to get in it.
Got an order of detailing stuff coming ready in waiting to give it a good "Detail" myself 😁

A friend of mine that was in the trade said the same thing. Even if you do go by the month then it would be worth more waiting for the new reg.

If I was bouncing off the walls waiting to get my shiny new car then i'd personally not wait.

Part ex prices can cloud the issue too if you don't have a locked in figure. Book prices will drop on older cars each month so the difference could be offset by what you get in part ex if the figure is flexible.

Do you want a current plate for 1 month or six? PCP handbacks will have a fixed price at the end whether it's a 67 or an 18 so depends on whether you'll have much, if any equity in the car.
There are so many variables.

Once your car is an older generation than what's currently on sale the value will ebb away no matter what the plate, until it gets old enough to bottom out and just goes purely on condition.

Get it now and slap a personal plate on it.  Then it won't be used as a showroom demonstrator.

It wouldn’t be used as a demo, don’t wind him up!

Mine was due to arrive in uk end of August so I’d agreed with the dealer to take it first of sep so it’d be a 67 reg. It arrived mid July so I just took it straight away as a 17 reg.

My personal opinion is it’s worth waiting 1-2 weeks for a new reg, but anything more just take it. The 6 month windows go by quite fast so I think people tend to just look at the actual year and mileage these days when buying a used car.
