Seams stupid not to put an advert up here. Any free advertisement is good advertisement.
I thought my first post was as close to an advert as I would be allowed - don't know the rules of posting for sale threads in the forums. I'm serious about selling and am having discussions with dealers about PX values currently.

Are you looking to buy? Drop me a PM with your phone number if you want and I'll give you a call.

Surely anyone with £25k would order a brand new one via DtD? As others have said, options mean different things to different people, I’d rather have a brand new car with zero Miles and full warranty for sure!

Anyway, just put a proper ad up in for sale!

Good of luck

Current price that way with the same options is £28600, and it's a 3-4 month wait. VW have used ones with less spec listed for almost £29k!

Think you need to get a decent advert online and see if your right then mate. Your problem is that your not a dealer and can’t offers things like finance options etc. The majority of people buy a car like yours on finance. I have sold many cars and the hardest one to sell was my 20 month old Mk7 GTI, older cars are easier to sell. You will have to be lucky enough to find a buyer who has the cash waiting. I think you need to avoid comparing yours to a forecourt car as you are not a dealer and people will want it off you at a bargain price.

I ended up getting £1500 more than I was offered part ex.... and it took weeks to sell. Luckily Audi held on to the S3 I had put a deposit on to give me time to sell but their patience was running out!!

I reckon you are in for a shock on what you actually get for it on a private sale.... but it could be debated for an age. Get it on autotrader and see what happens and I hope you get what you want for it.

Have you Finance on the car? If you have that will really complicate a private sale. I sold my 4 year old GTD privately recently and finance showing on an HPI check was off putting. Yes a private buyer can pay the finance company direct but buyers don’t want any hassle and look for a clean simple HPI clear purchase. To that end you really need to be able to pay off the finance yourself before advertising.

And I concur with dealers being able to sell cars for a lot more than a private seller can. They offer all facilities and reassurances to a buyer but it’s also true dealers struggle to sell cars at a few months old as often brand new is more attractive to buyers especially as finance rates tend to be lower.

Having said all that get it advertised using all the regular sites and if you have time to wait for the right buyer and are realistic on price you should sell it.

I've been offered £23750 by a VW dealer this morning. The straight PX offer against the retail price of a 530d I am interested in was £23k but I had already been offered £750 off the retail price for a purchase without PX.

If it was me, I'd jump at it as I hate selling privately and that sounds very fair.

I would take it. The ease of selling to a dealer saves a lot of grief with private buyers making silly offers and needing test drives with all the associates insurance issues!
