our 88 16valver has rather noisy tappytits
how do I test the lifters to ind the knackerd ones ?
as I don't fancy coughing up for 16 lifters
I'll be changeing the cam chain in the next couple of weeks so no better time to check I guess

Change the lot, euro car parts do a good deal on them.

it turned out to be the cam chain rattleing like hell
but at least it was cheaper to sort than replaceing 16 lifters

hydralic tappets are not adjustable, but the oooooold solid ones were. 16vs all had hydro tappets anyway so dunno why I bothered mentioning it
Glad you got it fixed, keep up the oil changes and always use synta/genuine oil filters to keep your tappets happy
