Tyres, which and why?
I need new tyres, it's going to be either Goodyear eagle AS3 £90, Michelin PS4 £112 or continental premium contract 6 £102

Which would you buy?

Did you have the Continental 6s on your mini Jeni? If not then can't really compare. General consensus on here is go for the Michelins if you want the best tyres with an alternative of the Conti 6s.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

PS4's for best balance of grip vs wear life vs noise and Conti 6's for best grip with the downside of probably wearing out 20-30% quicker.

I had Eagle AS's on my last GTD. They were OK, noticeably better than the OEM BS's for sure. Not as good as the PS's I finally got though.

My new GTD is my own, so my own tyre choice. Its going to be PS4's.

Conti 5Ps are great tyres.  Served me very well on GTI's and R over last 5 years.  Michelin PS4S are better - on another level and worth it for the rescued noise and superlative pothole absorbing qualities alone, never mind the astonishing level of grip in wet and dry.  Have actually transformed my daily commute.

I did ask this very question last week and nobody really responded hence me going with the Hankooks i was limited in choice as AC were paying for 1 of them so wasnt given an option about £80

Luckily motor came with 5Ps and although feel fine they are on the noisy side but for sure will go the PS4S route when requires. Always loved Michies, were the only real choice years back, fantastic on the Clio Williams.
Out of interest, any R owners bother with winter tyres these days, recall some did on the Mk6 mainly North of the border though.
Arrived 15/5/17 Mk 7.5 R Lapiz 5dr DSG, Prets, Pan Roof, DCC, Rear View Cam.
Our other car is a Mk7 GTI DSG 5dr Tungsten, Vienna, Rear View Cam, Park assist.

Can't say i saw it Jeni, I'd have given you the answer if I had...

Not that I'd imagine the Shark would splash out for premium rubber...
