Volume level markedly different - bluetooth
« on: 26 September 2017, 18:19 »
I have just changed my phone and the volume level now when changing between Bluetooth and radio is unbearable, far too quiet using Bluetooth so if I forget to alter the volume and switch to radio it is panic inducing. I've been through all, I think, options. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure the bluetooth/media volume on your phone is up full whack, it also controls the sound level in conjunction with the cars volume.

It's why there's a difference between Bluetooth and radio.

There is also 3 different levels to have bluetooth set to on the MIDn low medium and high. Yours could be set to low but don't try high unless you have your volume down on the MID because when they say high they really mean high.

I had an iPhone 5s, now have 6s. Sat in the car now and checking all setting between the 2 and the 6s volume level much less, even sounds a bit muffled and I have Dynaudio so will be peeved if I can't sort it. When using CarPlay it seems fine, but use Bluetooth majority of time.

Where's the setting?  Was this just on newer 7.5 models?   I find phone calls via bluetooth to be really quiet.

It's on my MIB2 but was also on my last couple of RNS510's too. I'll have to check later on how to get to it but from memory you press media and then the setting little gear things in the bottom right corner and it in there under volume settings.

If you want to turn up the volume in calls or nav announcements you can just turn it up while in the call or when the nav is talking.

I tried to video it but when connected to bluetooth and you try video it stops the sound playing through the system and I didn't have another phone to hand. So I took photos.

As you can see it is media, cogs bottom right, sound, volume, bluetooth audio and then you can select between low, medium and high.
