MOT test and the mark 7 GTi PP?
« on: 21 September 2017, 20:47 »
My car is due an Mot test next month.

I have concerns at either end of the car regarding the testing procedure.

Is it ok to test the rear electronic handbrake mechanism on the brake test roller?

At the front on the PP we have the VAQ differential, is it ok to subject this to force of the brake test roller?

I have other cars with mechanical plate Lsd's fitted, these NEVER get tested on the rollers at is can cause serious damage to the diff.

I have similar concerns for the VAQ diff plates as they lock one side and try to spin the other, this doesn't seem a good idea to me?

Has anyone else been through the MOt test in a Mark 7 with the VAQ diff?

Good points!
There are thousands of Golf 7's that'll now have had their first MOT and second.
I've not seen or heard of any catastrophic failures on here.
Get it MOT'd at a VW dealer a month before the due date and they'll fix anything they break!!

Yip. GTI PP, 13 plate. No issues whatsoever. I don’t think there’s anything to be overly concerned re.
