Funny really - my current and last Mk.7 were DSG but I have never used Autohold!

You can take your foot off the brake pedal when stoped if you use auto hold with DSG
You can do the same in the manual.
I Second that!

Well yeah obviously but the point I was making was that VE changed it a few years ago. Before if you took your foot off the brake the the car would start moving, now it doesn't start until you touch the throttle.

You shouldn't have to touch anything so something that shouldn't be is either on or off. Check your handbook and set up again from scratch. Once sorted as I've said, you won't need to touch it again in normal driving.

As Watts says, you should not have to touch anything when Auto Hold is on.  Even when reversing on a slope it should do all the hand brake stuff automatically.  I have a really steep slope on my Driveway.  Not once have I experienced anything like you describe. Auto Hold on my Golf works effortlessly on my driveway.  I have even forgotten how much of a chore using a manual handbrake lever could be when pulling away on a slope.

So as Watts says you may not have setup your Auto Hold/eBrake correctly?  I would check out the manual.

Not as such, you just need to ensure the autohold is switched on and the handbrake button is in the correct position. Best way is just a minute or two with the manual and set them correctly then job done!

Can't ever remember it doing that to me in the Tiguan or Skoda superb with dsg. All it did when you took your foot of the pedal was start the car.
